The Idea is The Easy Part

Dose of Gratitude

I’m a thinker—actually, scratch that—I’m an overthinker. Naturally, that means I often come up with ideas, especially when I’m slightly inconvenienced. It’s like my brain automatically starts brainstorming solutions to make life easier, don’t get me wrong I might whine and complain a bit, but I will always find myself revisiting that thought and talking about how the process or situation could have been better optimized.

Real Story – I recently had to visit a bank to open an account. First red flag—why isn’t this process online? Second red flag—I was handed a physical form to fill out, only for the attendant to manually input the same information into the company’s system. At this point, my mind was racing. Why is this still a thing? And more importantly, why am I in it?

Recently, I had an idea to develop an app. Why? Because I traveled to a country where I didn’t know anyone outside of my family—no friends, no rides, no constant driver. Basically, I had to figure out how to navigate. The hardest thing wasn’t physically getting around but knowing where or who to look for help.

Sure, platforms like Instagram, Google, and TikTok helped me eventually figure it out, but the process was scattered and overwhelming. That got me thinking: what if there were one centralized platform that gave you all the information you needed to navigate a new city or country? A tool that provided local resources like taxi companies, private drivers, restaurants, private chefs, and other essential services, all tailored to the specific city or state you’re in.

It would be like having a local insider’s guide in your pocket, designed for people who don’t have personal connections or prior knowledge of the area, so like Google but not a search engine—instead, imagine any the basic information you need being provided to you when you land in a new country; it’ll be a curated checklist with resources of that area.

So with that, I’m thankful for inconveniences—they inspire ideas that just might make life easier for everyone.

But like the title goes, the idea is the easy part. I have no idea how to go about building or creating this, but I know that this is definitely something I would like to work on. So I have decided to make it my goal this year and will keep you updated either on here or LinkedIn.

What is an idea of an app or a platform you have thought of that would just make your life easier? Or what is an app or platform that you use that makes your life easier?

See you same time, next week?
