6 Months Into the Year: Reflection and Holding Myself Accountable

Happy New Month, people!

Nothing like an early dose of gratitude, so let me come back from my faux hiatus and express my joy at entering the halfway mark of the year 2025. It’s so crazy how time flies, especially if you’re just cruising through.

In today’s post, I’m doing a recap of my year so far and what I’m looking forward to in the next six months.

Coming into the year, I had 10 goals. And how many have I achieved? Drum roll… None!

Goal 1: FFP – I haven’t applied for much, and the ones I have applied for either rejected me or haven’t gotten back to me.

Goal 2: GT/SV – I haven’t applied for any, so I haven’t heard back from any either.

Goal 3: CEE – I’m still working on it, but it’s proving to be quite an expensive process.

Goal 4: BJ – Looool. It’s not going great. I haven’t applied for many jobs, and the ones I have applied for have all rejected me. Even the ones that interviewed me within my company still said no.

Goal 5: MOIMOS – Looool. Let’s just say I can afford it now, but there’s no point doing it right now when I only have a year left and might need to move out if I get a great opportunity anyway. Nonetheless, I still look every now and then.

Goal 6: MCATT – To be honest, I haven’t gone since. Even though I was invited, I never responded because I felt like it would be a waste of my time, and there are better things I could be doing.

Goal 7: Marathon – To be honest, I haven’t trained much, so I’m not confident I can run a half marathon right now. This reminds me—I need to email them to move me to the 5K run instead because I do think I still have time to train for that one.

Goal 8: Launch an app – I procrastinated this one to the moon and back, but it’s still something I’m genuinely very interested in doing.

Goal 9: Serve in God’s ministry – I actually started, but I stopped because I felt it was taking up too much time. And to be honest, I just procrastinated for a bit and never went back.

Goal 10: HDAL – Let’s just say the caramel shortcake they sell at work has seen me more often than I’d like!

That being said, it’s safe to say all my goals are still very much important and relevant, and I really need to get back on track because they matter to me.

While I’m grateful for making it this far into the year, it’s also shown me that I haven’t really been living my life these past few months. The year and my life is literally passing me by, and I need to tighten up immediately. My results are a reflection of my actions. I’m not doing enough, so I’m not seeing enough results.

As for the next 6 months? I’m looking forward to ACTUALLY achieving the goals I set for myself 5–6 months ago.

So we need to do better, babes!!

See you guys in my next post!
